THANKSGIVING

thanksgiving-2016

It’s almost time! It doesn’t feel much like Thanksgiving is upon us because it is still hot outside in Austin. Total bummer. Let’s not dwell on that though. Let’s turn the ac down really cold, start cozying up to our favorite seasonal movies and get to planning the menu! Our family tends to stay pretty traditional with our menu and I love it that way. However, I’m up for spicing it up a little this year. There are some non-negotiables though: the green bean casserole and cornbread stuffing must remain classic. Let’s not fool around with those. They are perfect as is.

There are some fun recipes I have found that I think would be great additions this year. Some of them just switch out a few ingredients that make the whole dish very different. For instance, I make mac and cheese every year but I found this amazing new recipe that includes walnuts, brie and apples…a new flare for the dish! Below are the new additions I’m adding to our menu. I’m so excited to try them! If you are looking for some new ideas check them out.
